Movement V
The Cost of Division
When the mind says if I am this, I cannot be that—it does not just simplify.
If I am strong then I cannot be tender
If I am spiritual then I cannot want success
If I am peaceful then I cannot be powerful
If I am accepting then I cannot be ambitious
If I am surrendered then I cannot be agentic
The first move is feeling.
The second move is division.
The third is exile.
The rejected side does not disappear. It is not resolved. It is exiled.
Tenderness is pushed outside the identity.
Ambition is pushed outside the identity.
Vulnerability is pushed outside the identity.
A rigid identity is often built
from what it refuses to include.
What is disowned does not dissolve. It waits outside the structure, gathering force.
The mind calls it purity.
The psyche experiences it as exile.
Every false purity creates a hidden exile.
Every exile deepens the fragmentation it was meant to prevent.
